
What is Dyslexia?
Learning difficulties in childhood can be seen due to many different reasons such as genetics, problems during birth or pregnancy, brain damage, epilepsy. Generally, intellectual disability accompanies. In individuals with normal or high intelligence levels, if learning difficulty, reading, mathematics and written expression levels are below expectations, the presence of 'dyslexia' should be suspected.
Early signs of dyslexia include; difficulty remembering words or letters, confusing words with similar pronunciations, mixing up the places of letters in words, and forgetfulness.
In school-age children; difficulty in reading and spelling, inability to divide words into syllables and letters, behavioral disorders and unwillingness to go to school may be observed.
